Endless Summer

I've finally figured it out. I know why it is still 90 degrees here. It's happened at last: the Earth is falling into the sun. Collect your loved ones and let loose with the terrified screams of your choice, because we're all going down!

Okay. Maybe I'm overreacting. But it is November-freakin'-14th and it was 90 bloody degrees here today. Again. I just can't take it anymore! What is a wool-loving sweater knitter to do? A whole closet of wonderful woollies just waiting for their moment of glory and I'm frantically looking for a clean tank top to go with my capri pants and sandals and double-layering the SPF 45. I can't even imagine roasting a turkey all day; do you think anyone would mind cold soup and popsicles for Thanksgiving dinner?

On an ironic note, I'm almost done with my Not-So-Sahara, which is shaping up to be the warmest sweater I've ever made. It's thick and cushy and woolly and delightful, and unless I move to Toronto (which hubby and I agreed, as we were sweltering our way out to the car, is a simply smashing idea), I may never get to wear it.

Hey, Santa? Forget the sleigh. Bring the surfboard. We'll meet you at the beach.

Be strong (there's NO way I could live in that heat)! Wait a minute, you ARE strong. Anyone who can knit in weather like that, even with the benefit of air conditioning, is a knitting goddess!

Given that you don't get snow days, seems like you should get heat days when it's that hot in november.

Isn't this awful?! I barely find heat acceptable in the summer months... but in November? Ugh! And the dry hot winds to boot.

Must admit it all makes me a bit cranky. Well... that and the 6 year old who's bent on conquering me today.

you have to be one dedicated knitter to make all these sweaters in 90 degree heat. Me? I'd take up scrapbooking or move to Alaska! LoL! keep up the great work--you do inspire me!

Yes move up here to Alaska!! Its actually a warm 30 degrees today. T-shirt and shorts weather! We've got snow on the ground though and more to come. You have my sympathy. When it gets above 60, I overheat! Hang in there!

I simply canNOT even imagine knitting in heat like that!! You are truly an inspiration! Why not move up here to Vancouver, where the endless cold rain in winter provides limitless knitting possibilities?? ;)
What about barbecuing that turkey? And serving cold sweet potato pie with whipped cream?

I feel for you. We had a "maybe" of snow in our forecast and it didn't make it, but mittens sound really good just about now.

Ugh! 90 degrees? You can come visit me. We had snow flurries this morning.

hah! I was going to suggest you come visit US in Colorado!

Hey, maybe you should do a "Want-to-wear-my-sweaters Tour"

LOL! Cold soup & popsicles for Thanksgiving! That is some tough weather for a wool lover. Today in the NY/NJ metro area it's mid to upper 30s. You certainly are a dedicated sweater knitter to keep on with the sweaters in that heat. I hope you get some cold weather soon.

I agree, it is way to hot in SD this November. However, I would choose it any day over Toronto. My husband just got back from a trip home to report that it was wet and cold; really cold.

I liked your comment on the blue blog. I think I may leave a copy of "Custom Knits" out for my husband to find. Maybe he'll offer to pick up some yarn for me.

90 degrees? Whoa. In July, okay. In November, that's just plain wrong. Maybe you could sculpt a sherbet turkey with popsicles for tail feathers. And if that sweater's just too much, well....I'm sure one of us northerners would be happy to take it off your hands! :-) It's looking beautiful, can't wait to see it fully finished.

And this is why I no longer live in California. I think you ought to move to Alaska.
