36 Inches

I'll admit this is getting tedious.

Here's the ubiquitous progress shot on the endless lace trim:

But I have officially reached three feet, of the five that I need for this piece, and the seven that I need total.

It would probably be going faster if I weren't also working on this, which is ever so much more fun:

Yes, it's time for another crappy bathroom mirror wip photoshoot. Note to self: clean bathroom mirror before next photoshoot. But as you can see, despite the embarrassing spots of what I can only hope is toothpaste, the Opulent Raglan is progressing swimmingly. I love that fancy cable up the front, and it's so easy! I haven't done much in the way of modification to this one, except for increasing the length and adjusting the spacing of the waist shaping to fit. Oh, and I replaced the turned hem with some simple 1x1 ribbing, which will match the ribbing on the neckline. The turned hem looked sort of lumpy and unfinished to me in other FO pictures, and ribbing is faster and easier and gives a more finished look, in my opinion.

I'm just about to pick up stitches for the sleeves, having already done my daily lace-knitting penance. I still haven't decided exactly how I'm going to do the sleeves, but to my own surprise, I'm leaning toward knitting them as written!

Looks great! It's making me want to cast on for a sweater. I haven't done (a successful) one in a while.

The raglan looks great! I really like the cable on the front. Are you really going to do the sleeves as written, or are you just messin with us? ;)

p.s. thank you for the helpful comments.

Hi - the raglan looks incredible. I can't wait to see it finished! I'm new to your blog. Love your story about day 1 of school. I hear ya! Same story at my house and my twins are almost 18.

Dang! I just thought I'd decided which sweater to knit with my just-purchased bagful of bottle green Wool Bam Boo, (yum!),the Sidelines Top from IK Fall 08, until I saw your Opulent Raglan. Now I've gotta find the pattern. Love it!

Yeah, the sweater is a more pleasant knit, that's for sure! I feel like I'm that weird blog friend that's always commenting on your body, but you have such a long waist, it's beautiful:)

That lace is perfect! It might be slow going but it looks great! I'd show you my lace scarf but it just met with a ripping accident. I ripped back when I didn't mean to and now I have to sit and try to find my place again. I'm trying to decide if I want to start over or just burn it.

The raglan looks great, it fits you perfectly!
The lace is beautiful too, but quite tedious to knit when you need so much of it!

Oh the raglan is beautiful! now you need to show us your closet full of FO's! I'm curious to see if they're in a cedar lined drawer, or folded with tissue paper inbetween, or packed loveingly away...or stuffed in the back somewhere (like mine would be)....
